El dólar Jamaiquino ha sido la moneda de Jamaica desde 1969. Se divide en 100 cents.

El 29 de febrero de 1968, la Cámara de Representantes de Jamaica votaba la introducción del dólar, que sustituiría a la libra jamaiquina. El nuevo dólar no fue usado solo por Jamaica sino también por las Islas Caimán, antigua dependencia jamaicana, hasta mayo de 1972. En esa fecha, el territorio británico dejó de utilizar el dólar jamaiquino y comenzó a utilizar su propia moneda, el dólar de las Islas Caimán.

Circulan monedas de 1, 10 y 25 céntimos y de 1, 5, 10 y 20 dólares, y billetes de 50, 100, 500 y 1.000 dólares, emitidos por el Banco de Jamaica (Bank of Jamaica).

The Jamaican dollar has been the currency of Jamaica since 1969. It is divided into 100 cents.

On February 29, 1968, the Jamaican House of Representatives voted to introduce the dollar, which would replace the Jamaican pound.  The new dollar was used not only by Jamaica but also by the Cayman Islands, a former Jamaican dependency, until May 1972. On that date, the British territory stopped using the Jamaican dollar and began to use its own currency, the US dollar.  Cayman Islands.

Coins of 1, 10 and 25 cents and 1, 5, 10 and 20 dollars circulate, and notes of 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 dollars, issued by the Bank of Jamaica.
