El baht, moneda oficial de Tailandia, que en tailandés se designa como “บาท”, utiliza el símbolo “฿” y el código ISO 4217 designado es “THB”. El baht se divide en 100 satang -en tailandés “สตางค์”- de los que se acuñan monedas de 25 y 50 satang. Con respecto a los baht, se acuñan monedas de 1, 2, 5 y 10 y se emiten billetes de 20, 50, 100, 500 y 1.000. La emisión de monedas y billetes corresponde al Banco de Tailandia.

En el anverso tanto de las monedas como de los billetes figura la imagen del rey de Tailandia, Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) el grandioso, noveno rey de la dinastía Chakri y el jefe de estado que más tiempo lleva en el cargo en todo el mundo (70 años), desde el 9 de junio de 1946.

Con respecto al reverso, en las monedas figuran distintos templos budistas del país mientras que los billetes rinden homenaje a reyes predecesores de la misma dinastía como son Rama III, Rama IV, Rama V y Rama VIII, excepto en el billete de 1.000 baht que aparece el actual rey.

The baht, the official currency of Thailand, which in Thai is designated as “บาท”, uses the symbol “฿” and the designated ISO 4217 code is “THB”.  The baht is divided into 100 satang - in Thai "สตางค์" - of which 25 and 50 satang coins are minted.  With respect to baht, coins of 1, 2, 5 and 10 are minted and notes of 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 are issued.  The issuance of coins and banknotes corresponds to the Bank of Thailand.

The obverse of both the coins and banknotes features the image of the King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) the great, ninth king of the Chakri dynasty and the longest-serving head of state in the world.  (70 years old), since June 9, 1946.

Regarding the reverse, the coins feature different Buddhist temples in the country while the banknotes pay homage to predecessor kings of the same dynasty such as Rama III, Rama IV, Rama V and Rama VIII, except for the 1,000 baht note that appears  the current king.
