El Sol fue la unidad monetaria del Perú entre 1863 y 1985 y su símbolo era el S/. La unidad monetaria también fue llamada informalmente como sol de plata entre 1863 y 1897, y formalmente como sol de oro entre 1931 y 1985. El Sol fue reemplazado por el Inti, pero volvió en uso 1991 como el Nuevo sol.

The Sun was the monetary unit of Peru between 1863 and 1985 and its symbol was S /.  The monetary unit was also informally called the silver sol between 1863 and 1897, and formally the gold sol between 1931 and 1985. The Sol was replaced by the Inti, but it returned to use in 1991 as the Nuevo sol.
