El florín holandés ( holandés : Gulden , IPA:  [ɣɵldə (n)] ) o fl. fue la moneda de la Holanda del siglo 17 hasta 2002, cuando fue sustituido por el euro . Entre 1999 y 2002, el florín era oficialmente un "subunidad nacional" del euro. Sin embargo, los pagos físicos sólo podían hacerse en florín, que no se disponía de monedas o billetes en euros.  ÑThe Dutch guilder (Dutch: Gulden, IPA: [ɣɵldə (n)]) or fl.  It was the currency of the Netherlands from the 17th century until 2002, when it was replaced by the euro.  Between 1999 and 2002, the guilder was officially a "national subunit" of the euro.  However, physical payments could only be made in florin, no euro banknotes or coins were available.  The Antillean guilder is still in use in Curaçao and Sint Maarten (two countries in the Kingdom of the Netherlands), but this currency is different from the Dutch guilder.  In 2004, the Suriname guilder was replaced by the Suriname dollar.

 The Dutch name Gulden was a medium Dutch adjective meaning "gold", just as the name indicates the coin was originally made of gold.  The ƒ symbol or fl.  for the Dutch guilder it was derived from another ancient currency, the guilder.
